Dating With HIV

It goes without saying that Valentine’s Day means something special to a lot of people across the globe. The day, exclusively meant for couples gives them the opportunity to show how much they mean to each other. In fact, a lot of people go out of their way to express their love for their partners.

Physical intimacy is another aspect of Valentine’s Day that people generally avoid speaking about. According to statistics, the highest sale of contraceptives is usually witnessed between February 12 and February 15 each year. This draws our attention to one of the major concerns associated with physical intimacy – sexually transmitted diseases. Whilst we aren’t against having sex on Valentine’s Day, we advocate for the use of contraceptives and other precautions.

Here are a few tips for those who plan on making love to their partner on this special day:

Don’t plan on sleeping with someone whom you’ve met on a blind date: Meeting someone for the first time in the real world with the intention of sleeping with him / her at the end of the day is a recipe for disaster. Industry experts believe your chances of contracting an STD are extremely high when you’re involved with strangers. It is often noticed that during the course of the day, people get so much involved into their partners that they completely forget to use any contraceptive.

Do not celebrate Valentine’s Day at your boyfriend’s place: Unless you’re really sure about getting physically intimate with him or her that night, it wouldn’t be a great idea to visit your boyfriend’s place. A little kissing and hugging could eventually lead to passionate sex, which increases your chances of getting an STD.

One night Stand

One night stand: Relationships take time to prosper. You cannot sleep with someone whom you’ve just met at the local bar. It is worth mentioning that a lot of singles visit bars on Valentine’s Day to have a drink and keep an eye on other singles, waiting for an opportunity to exploit their vulnerability. You might as well fall for them given the fact that you’re already drunk and lose the ability to make rational decisions. It is also worth mentioning that in majority of cases, drunken sex is done without the use of contraceptives.

If you’re serious about the idea of getting laid this Valentine’s Day, it would be wise to follow all the precautions and abstain from getting drunk unless you’re out with your boyfriend. If you’re meeting someone for the first time in the real world, after having chatted with him / her online, avoid getting physically intimate as you might be in for the shock of your life.

Gifting is a general practice on this special day. However gifting something that’s completely unasked for and undesired is unacceptable.
